Advice & Indemnity Scheme for PA Employers
Our services are designed to let you, the employer, feel comfortable with your role and allow you to have peace of mind to get on with your day to day life.
SPAEN strives to be the authoritative voice of PA employers in Scotland, especially with regard to Personnel and Employment Law issues. Being in receipt of Self Directed Support and using this money to employ your own workers can be a very daunting prospect.
Taking this into consideration, SPAEN has been working in partnership with Peninsula Business Services to provide a bespoke package of support designed to make the role of PA employer manageable.
The level of service afforded to PA employers from SPAEN includes the following:
• Unlimited access to Employment Law Advisors round the clock, 365 days a year.
• Assistance with the production of contracts of employment and employee handbooks.
• Stationery packs in support of the PA employer role.
• Step by step advice on any personnel and employment law issues.
• Legal representation at employment tribunal should the need arise.
• Tribunal costs up to one hundred thousand pounds per individual claim with a maximum cover amounting to two million pounds in any one year if a tribunal did find and award against the PA employer.
The combined benefit of all these services is first and foremost to take the fear out of being a PA employer; especially regarding any possible disputes, which may arise in the employer/employee relationship.

The additional cost of joining the Advice and Indemnity scheme is £100 per annum and most Local Authorities in Scotland will meet this cost as part of the start up of a Self Directed Support package, if you are choosing to employ your own staff.
